Shake it off and go again
First light was very serene with a palpable stillness. A deep orange fading into lavender and light a blue color show filled the sky. The ocean was flat with waves starting to build as the sun started to come up. The small waves were catching the pastel light as they rolled in very close to shore.
So many seagulls today! Hook the seagulls flew by super close to say good morning everyone! Pelican Highway was packed as well. It seems our winter snow birds are arriving more and more by the day.
In the river after sunrise, Notch, my dolphin friend sauntered by to say hello. At the same time Skylar the resident osprey went for a fish but missed. When she came up, she closed her eyes (technically it’s called a nictitating membrane) and gave herself a good shake.
She went on to say, “I don’t always get my fish. The trick for me is to take a minute, shake off the last attempt and go again. It’s important to keep trying even when I’m tired or frustrated. Eventually I’ll grab my goal, in the meantime I’m learning what works.”
Wishing you a groovy day friends!
