Tales from Pip~ Episode - Jet Lag is Real
Hi! My name is Pip! If you are just tuning in, let me give you a recap from the previous episodes….I tried to eat a pokey fish, that didn’t go so well and it got stuck in my pouch.
I thought I was doomed until a few nice Hoomans saved me and nursed me back to life. This was because the bird hospital was closed. I did well until 6 weeks later when I started to feel really sick. My Hooman friend took me to a rehab place in St Augustine, Florida. After a week there, I set myself free and flew to my home. Yup 75 miles back to new Smyrna Beach.
That brings us to the past week.
After I flew 75 miles I was exhausted. Jet lag is a real thing. Once I got back, each day I flew to my pole and sleep about 5 hours with my Hooman friend Shelley near by. She was pretty worried about me. I was looking kinda rough, my left leg and foot hurt and I couldn’t keep my eyes open.
Although my foot and leg still hurt I am finally rested from the long flight. At night, I meet up with my pelican friends for a good night sleep. This morning I flew to the lagoon with 3 other pelicans, I could hear Shelley cheering down below. I spent the day on my pole and even tried to catch a few fish! I didn’t catch any, but I am trying.
Even though I am getting a little better each day, my leg and foot has Shelley concerned.
After all our talks and her cheering me on, I decided she was the one who needed the pep talk.
I told her, Trust my journey, whatever that may be. I know my path has been bumpy and uncertain, but that is kinda how life goes. I don’t know what my future holds but for today I am safe and loved.
Stay tuned for more tales!
