Embracing the rhythms of life

At first light, pink fluffy clouds floated by, carried gently by the salty breeze. The sky looked as if was created  by a masterful painter using hues of soft pink, gold and orange.

As the sun came up hugged by the fluffy clouds the gulls began to celebrate the beginning of a new day.  We headed into the shallow water to get squeaky clean.

They said, “About this time of year our feathers look a bit tattered.  It’s the time of year when our heads change to black signaling it is time to mate.”

“Our transformation is subtle and a reminder of the cycles and rhythms of life.  We are here to encourage embracing the rhythm of life, allowing the flow like the tides coming and going.”

Trust yourself, a super power

The quiet of first light accompanied but he captivating sliver of a moon was a wonderful way to start the day.

Wispy and fluffy clouds greeted the sun with a sweet embrace as it came up to greet  the day. It filled the sky with orange and golden ribbons of light just as the flock slew in with open wings ready for a new day.

After sunrise the marina was busy with all kinds of herons. Among them, a green heron stood out, a small but striking figure poised on a wire above the water.

She said, “For me to thrive, the main ingredient is to trust myself fully so I can lean in. And, this might sound surprising, I hold the wire gently, rather than with a tight grip.
“You see, if I am solid, balanced and confident with myself, no matter how flimsy foundation I am strong.”

New moon reflection

Ahhhhhh, another gorgeous sunrise with a lovely breeze and active ocean.  The almost new moon was high in the sky surrounded by wispy clouds before the sunrise came up to greet the day.

The almost new moon brings us the message today.  New moons usher in new and fresh energy for us to harness.  This one is situated in the sky asking us to reflect on how we are communicating with others. It is encouraging us to be open minded and adaptable, wiling to pivot and change if necessary.

A solo pelican chimed in adding, “I agree with the moon.  You see, I follow my instincts because they let me know when to veer off the highway and grab a fish. For me to thrive, it is necessary to be spontaneous and adapt to my environment daily.”

Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Tales from the lagoon ~ Episode- Newborn Dolphin Update!

Tales from the lagoon ~ Episode- Newborn Dolphin Update!

I was so excited to see the newborn calf this morning, 7 days since the last sighting.

The last photo is from May 25, just 7 days ago and how much s/he has grown. My Facebook friends named the little one Squirt.

Squirt and her Momma were with a maternity pod- which consists of a few moms and their kiddos, usually with a male escort.

Squirt and the Momma stayed in the distance for a while but much to my surprise they came in close so I could grab a couple close ups! What a playful peanut! So tiny, popping out of the water like popcorn. You can see the tiny size of her dorsal fin next to the adult.

Bonus! The first Mom I met in 2018 was in the pod too. I named her Momma because I had no idea I would meet so many moms. More from her and her latest calf coming soon. And Uncle Larry popped in too!

So much to share, stay tuned!

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - Multiple Dolphin Leaps

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - Multiple Dolphin Leaps

I had some great quality time hanging with Momma, her latest calf, and Momma Dailia along with a few others and several pelicans. At one point the dolphin sped out to the middle of the river, which is when I say, “We are on the loose!”

The pelicans were a little slow to figure it out but eventually they took off to join the dolphins charging! When the dolphins charge, it is very exciting and they tend too all jump at the same time. Thankfully they staggered their jumps by a couple of seconds which you’ll see toward the end.

The video shows how they can be chillin’ one minute then off to a party in a blink.

A little shift creates change

Mother Nature brought us more of a winter looking kind of sunrise with blues and gold colors along with huge clouds. It was windy with a churning ocean when the flock flew in later than usual. When the sun came up a single beam of gold light streamed outward giving us a vibe of hope.

Pelican Highway traffic was light with just a few pelicans zipping by, propelled but he wind. One of the pelicans brings us one of the message today. “When I drop one of my wings just a little, it changes the course of my flight. I’m a reminder that the smallest shift can create a big change.”

A bunny rabbit was having breakfast after sunrise reminding us to stop and smell the flowers. She went on to say, “Use your instincts to nurture your creative ideas and watch the abundance manifest.”

Do the unexpected

The morning was invigorating with whipping wind and a churning ocean.  Fluffy clouds greeted the sun as it came up streaming golden light onto the textured ocean.

A chatty flock flock of gulls flew in later than usual using the wind to hang in place. They remind us to be resourceful.  They said, “Harness the elements around you, the daily variation can give you an advantage you didn’t expect.”

On my way back from the beach I heard a couple of ducks quacking non stop.  I followed their call and ended up at a pool where a duck couple was splashing around enjoying a morning swim.

They made their way to the side of the pool and said, “Sure swimming in a  pond is nice but taking a dip in the pool is refreshing. We highly recommend coloring outside the lines, it’s fun to do what isn’t expected. And, slow it down, savor the moment as you explore the new and different.”

Alone time to get clarity

As I stood at the edge of the ocean, a salty breeze brought waves of alternating warm and cool air that felt soothing on my skin.  The chatty flock of gulls was ready to get squeaky clean as the sun came up above the textured ocean.

One of the gulls getting squeaky clean took a few minutes to enjoy surfing the waves reminding us to play while doing our daily chores.

After the sun came up a flock of egrets flew in to hunt for breakfast.  They said, “Our secret to success is being very focused and light on our feet.  We stay fully present in the moment ready for action.”

Down the beach a solo pelican veered off  Pelican Highway for a rest.  He said, “A little alone time off the highway helps me center.  Solo time is a nice way to regroup and gain clarity so I can hop on the highway again.”

Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Be open to guideposts

As I walked across the boardwalk to the beach, the calm ocean and pink glow in the sky took my breath away. A flat ocean looked more like a lake soaking up sweet shimmering colors from the sunrise.

The chatty flock of gull showed up at their usual time with wings and hearts wide open. We enjoyed bath time along with a celebratory dance around the sun.

As the sun came up, kissing the ocean goodbye for the day, a sailboat heading out into the wide open sea passed the channel marker. They remind us to look for guideposts along the way.

They may not always be obvious like the channel marker but they are always around ready to show you the way.

A little rest goes a long way

WOWIE! The sky was filled with every color of the rainbow giving us a masterful sunrise. The wet sand reflected the masterpiece mirror back the heart expanding beauty.

The chatty flock was present to watch the every changing landscape unfold. We enjoyed bath time in the calm, lake like ocean.

Pelican Highway had a rest stop near by bringing us the message to know when to rest. They said, "Just a little time out can help you take flight, leaning in fully when the moment arrives.”

Gratitude helps us heal and thrive

Oh what a wonderful sunrise with lovely pastel colors and heart opening reflections on the wet sand.  Mother Nature use d her wispy paint brush to give us a sweet start to the day.

The birds and people bring us the message of keeping you wings and hearts open to receiving.

A laughing gull getting squeaky clean said, “Daily bath time helps me get the bugs off so I can stay healthy and open to living my best life.”

A woman with her arms open to the sunrise reminds us to open to the love and beauty.  Remembering gratitude helps us heal and thrive.

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - Female Dolphin Charges the Camera

This is Momma Sarabi, I've known her a couple years and she loves to give me photo ops. While standing in the shallow water she was coming at me fast chasing mullet. The spot they usually go is to the left but she was being playing to the camera. This was taken with my iPhone.

Easy Like Sunday Morning

Mother Nature brought us another calming sunrise with a lovely springtime color show.  Soft pink and blues showed up at first light slowly changing to a golden glow as the clouds teed up the sun like a golf ball.

The chatty flock was already at the edge of the ocean when I arrived.  Pelican Highway traffic was light heading in both direction while dolphins searched from breakfast on the horizon.

After sunrise, the lagoon was very active with a couple manatees, a dolphin pair and pelicans.  A manatee came over to say good morning and bring us the message of taking it nice and easy.  He said, “Take time to feel your emotions so you can let them go.  Letting go of the old will make room for the new that you truly desire.”

Wishing you an easy like Sunday morning kind of day!

See the whole picture

Ahhhh, it was a soft and sweet morning with a gentle, salty breeze and calm ocean. A chatty flock flew in at their usual time for bath time while dolphins cruised near the waves looking for breakfast.

When the sun came up, I saw shapes of people walking across the horizon bringing us the message of support. They remind us help is all around, even if we can’t see it.

At first light I ran into a raccoon family who were quite chatty. One stopped to say, “I am very clever and able to adapt to the ever changing landscape. I am here to remind you to be flexible. See the whole picture, not just what you hope or want and that will open all kinds of doors for you."

Wishing you a beautiful day feeling supported!

Finding safety helps manifest

The full moon was setting over the river as the sun prepared to come up for the day. When I reached the edge of the ocean, the chatty flock showed up with their wings open, ready to start the day.

Perfect waves rolled toward shore soaking up the beautiful color show.  As the sun came up, it filled the sky with a stunning red and golden glow.

After sunrise, while standing in the river watching a solo dolphin, a turtle sauntered up to grab a snack next to me.

She said, “I have a couple messages today.  I am here to remind you to trust in the pace of life.  As a turtle I know when to kick it and when to glide with ease. Not to worry, what is meant for you will never pass you by.”

“If the energy of the moon feels intense, I recommend finding safety within yourself or a safe place or person to hang with.  You see, feeling safe makes all the difference in manifesting your heart’s desires.”

Full moon reignites a spark in you

The full moon was setting about 30 minutes before the sunrise casting a glow onto the boat wake on the river.  This full moon is situated in the sky bringing us the energy of optimism.

The man in the moon said, “Be open to reigniting a spark within.  Let the power of the moon fill you with confidence preparing you for new opportunities.”

When the sun came up big and bright ready to start the day, the chatty flock gather around to celebrate. They were feeling quite festive as they soaked up the light of the sun. They said, “We are here to remind you to dive into nature to find balance. Let the natural world of the outdoors calm your sense and fill you peace.”

Higher persecutive gives clarity

Mother Nature brought us more of a winter feeling sunrise with clouds on the horizon, a churning ocean and wind.  The flock flew in diving into the sun with happy feet.

When the sun came up, casting its light onto the ocean, giving us a sparkly sunrise. In the quiet moment as the sun came up with the powerful ocean churning, the energy of a fresh new day felt full of promise.

The seacoast looked extra beautiful today as they leaned into each other reminding us of the power of 2.  As we lean in, together we can stand longer.

As I was taking in the seacoast a hawk flew overhead!  The hawk said, “I am here to encourage getting the bird’s eye view of your situation. Getting the higher perspective can help you see the obstacles with clarity.  Let the distractions fall away, stay focused and you can soar even higher.”

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - Pelican Steals a Fish from A Dolphin

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - Pelican Steals a Fish from A Dolphin

Today I got spend quality time with a female dolphin I call Momma Split Fin. I called her last calf P, Making them Split and P. The last photo is from 2022 with Split on a calf.

Just in the last year she started engaging and playing to the camera. Today, she had 5 pelicans riding her tushy all day trying to scoop up fish. As she swam into the shallows she would swim close by with the birds in tow, maybe she was hoping I would distract them.

One of the pelicans got really lucky when he got in front of Momma Split and scopped up a massive fish. Momma Split wasn’t very happy, coming up from under the pelican with a pretty stern BOOP! The pelican flew over closer to me as if I could help. Momma came and circled a few times before letting to go.

After a couple hours, what looked like her calf and another older dolphin came in and the three of them left the lagoon. Great quality time for sure!

I have video of the action that I’ll share soon,

Click the last one to see a video of the action.

Stay tuned for more tales!
