New beginnings, lucky charms and prosperity

My first attempt to get to the beach was met with rain. The good thing about Florida is if you wait a couple minutes the weather will most likely change, bringing us the message of patience and timing.

Mother Nature brought us a dramatic and beautiful sunrise with rain, dark clouds, streaming golden light and a rainbow!

The gulls and pelican Highway were enjoying riding the rainbow and wind helping them reach their destination.

The rainbow is a universal sign of hope, reminding us to keep the faith even even when skies are stormy. They bring the promise of new beginnings, lucky charms and prosperity.

The pelican highway and laughing gull on the rainbow said, “Take a deep breath, exhale and trust in the timing. What is meant for you will never pass you by.”

Wishing you a rainbow kind of day friends!

Tales from the Lagoon~ Episode Pip Gets Squeaky Clean. Sadly, NO sunrise today, rain and overcast

Tales from the Lagoon~ Episode Pip Gets Squeaky Clean

If you re just tuning in, I’m Pip the pelican. I tried to eat a filleted sheepshead fish, last year around this time. The boney fish was stuck in my gullet and I was scared because I couldn’t get it out A group of people with a lot of fingers reached in and got the pokey fish out. YAY!

The bird hospital was closed at the time but said to feed me, I liked this a lot! It took me 10 days to be able to fly again. It took me several months to feel better. The short version is I have quite a bumpy year.

I haven’t been feeling my best for the past 2 weeks. I feel like I am aging or at the least feeling like an elder bird before my time.

A couple weeks ago, I had a very long worm exiting my tushy, I didn’t know what it was but Shelley looked like she turned green when she saw it. I’m thinking that’s not a good thing.

The fact that I was taking a bath, and a really long one, means I’m feeling a bit better. I was bathing in shallow water, and when I went to flap my wings to get the water off, my feet touched the ground! It surprised me and I almost fell right on Shelley. That’s why I’m so close in the photos.

In the past year when I was really struggling, I would sit on the beach because I knew that would alert Shelley I was in trouble and needed help. For now, I’m not sitting on the beach and don’t want Shelley to pick me up and take me to the hospital. When she thinks about it, I swim away from her.

We still have long talks. I told her I would sit on the beach or give her a sign if I needed help. She told me, “I trust your journey. I am here for you if you need anything.”

Sadly, in the past 2 weeks, I have seen 4 more pelican friends with filleted sheepshead stuck in their gullet. Shelley was able to get one out but not the other 3. For any fisher friends reading this, please spread the word about the filleted sheepshead being deadly to us pelicans. Thank You!

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - It All Starts with the Fish

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - It All Starts with the Fish

It’s the time of year when the pelicans follow the dolphins relentlessly hoping to score a fish. Sometimes the dolphins toss the pelicans a fish just to watch the birds go crazy. Stay tuned for that story coming soon.

If they are not tossing the fish, the pelicans try to get any fish swimming away. No matter which way it goes, the splash and excitement is fast and furious.

In this episode, the dolphin doming in stealth like with a pelican directly overhead, then leaps out with a burst of energy mullet in his mouth, landing with a huge thud and splash.

Stay tuned for a Pip the pelican update and more tales!

Fall Deeper in Love with yourself

WOWIE! The pre sunrise pink and purple sky took my breath away. The gorgeous reflections on the wet sand made my heart expand with ease The breeze was soft and salty on my skin when the flock of seagulls flew in to say hello.

A flock of Ruddy Trurnstones joined the laughing gulls. Rootie, one of the turnstones brings us the message today. She said, “I recommend falling deeper in love with yourself. Join me in loving your reflection.”

The fluffy clouds on the horn gave the sun a hug and lifted it up to bring us warmth and rays of golden light. The sun even found a perfect hole to poke through the clouds bringing us the reminder that things are lining up just right. Relax, and breathe.

Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Nature can help you feel rooted

Mother Nature brought us another reflective, pretty in pink kind of sunrise. The breeze created textures in the water adding to the beauty. The wet sand reflected back the breathtaking sky giving us the double the beauty.

At one point a heart shaped opening formed in the clouds. Mother Nature said, "Just a little reminder to keep your heart open."

A small flock of gulls flew in to enjoy bath time and connection. They said, rain is on the way so they wanted to get squeaky clean now.

After sunrise I was greeted by Eddy the pelican who said, “I highly recommend getting out into nature to help you feel better. You see, the mangrove roots under my feet help me feel grounded and in the moment. Watching the dolphins and other birds also makes me happy.”

2 heads are better than 1

The almost full moon was setting just before the sunrise came up the greet the day. This “Pink” moon is situated in the sky where it is ushering the energy of connection and relationships.

The full moon said, “Use my energy to help manifest the connections and relationships you want in your life. I bring the message that 2 heads are better than 1. Because I am almost full, I am asking you to let go of anything keeping you from having balanced and symbiotic relationships.”

Pelican highway traffic was light with just 2 pelicans flying northbound using the waves to carry them with little effort. They said, “If the energy of the full moon feels intense, relax into the energy and float along until you feel more grounded.”

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode ~ Da Boys!

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode ~ Da Boys!

Just like each dolphin has their own personality, each pod has a vibe depending on the day. It’s obvious these 4 enjoy each other. The fish together like a well oiled machine, hang out and rest, tease the pelicans and snuggle.

Male dolphins connect with another male dolphin for life, forming a beautiful bromance.

Daniko and Jasper are what seem to be male besties, and Cutter and his friend who need a name, seem to be best friends.

Today they were enjoying the calm water and overcast skies. Taking time for some love and affection in between grabbing snacks. After the affection, 3 of them flew out of the water together! I missed the photo but saw it and squealed. Then, the one without a name popped out of the water confirming he is a male.

Male dolphins have 2 slits on their belly in the shape of an exclamation point, females have one long slit and 2 short slits that looks like a division sign.

Head high even when you feel tattered

The pre sunrise sky filled with pink rays of light jetting high into the sky starting the morning with a hopeful vibe. A small flock of gulls flew in for bath time in the warm water.

One of the gulls said, “I’m here to bring the message of keeping you head high even when you feel tattered. It’s true my wings have holes from the elements. That just means I’m living and experience all that life has to offer. Keeping my head high helps me see the beauty all around.”

When the sun came up over the wall of clouds, the golden light brought warmth and a sense of serenity.

After sunrise a dolphin and pelican were enjoying breakfast together. The pelican said, “Go ahead and open your wings, show off your beautiful colors.”

Tales from the Lagoon  ~ Episode- Dolphin Plays with a Cormorant

Tales from the Lagoon  ~ Episode- Dolphin Plays with a Cormorant

Cormorants are amazing fisher birds.  Able to swim and fly and full of personality.  It’s not uncommon to see them on the periphery of the dolphin mayhem but not usually in the middle of the mix.

Today they were just as much a part of the sushi party as the pelicans and dolphins.

At one point the dolphin went over to the cormorant and started to play by swimming close with an occasional  nose giving the cormorant the slightest of bumps.

The cormorant was a very good sport and held her ground for a long time.  She didn’t even leave her spot, she was like, “No, I’m staying right here!  I can fish here too.”  But alas after a couple more minutes of play, she gave a big ‘Hurrumpf!’ and flew away.

Side Stepping to go forward

As I walked to the beach the soft breeze felt good on my skin. I could see the pink glow in the sky, filling me with anticipation. The flock flew in loud and chatty, ready for bath time.

Buddy, the herring gull was in the flock of laughing gulls. He said, “It’s ok to be different. You see self love makes it possible to be myself when I’m around a flock of different kind of birds.”

As I was photographing the sunrise I saw a crab playing in the waves showing her big eyes reflecting on the wet sand.

She said, “I bring the message of trusting the journey. Sometimes you have to move sideways a few steps or even backwards to move forward. Not to worry, side stepping doesn't mean you going in the wrong direction.”

DON’T GIVE UP JUST BEFORE YOU REACH YOUR GOAL

What a sweet and powerful morning Mother Nature brought to us today. Huge fluffy clouds soaked up the pastel colors adding to the beauty. The breeze coming from the north was refreshing and salty.

A chatty flock of gulls flew in hanging in place with the gorgeous clouds as their backdrop. The energy felt expansive like anything is possible.

A chatty crow flew in to say, “No! Don’t give up just before you reach your goal. There is a great transformation happening within you right now. Trust that your life history has prepared you for this momentous change. You go this!”

Pelican Highway was gliding high above in the thermals. 2 pelicans, one mature and a youngin’ looked to be holding hands as they gently floated overhead. They said, “No matter your differences, life is sweeter together. Let’s go together.”

“Hold my hand and we're halfway there. Hold my hand and I'll take you there, Somehow, Some day, Somewhere!” ~Music by Leonard Bernstein, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim.

Align yourself with what your heart desires

With wind whipping and a heavy layer of fluffy clouds the morning was dark and chilly. The flock of gulls flew in early able to hang in place with the assistance of the wind.

After sunrise, a really fun wildlife party was happening, with dolphins, turtles, pelicans falling from the sky like rain as they grabbed snack and a manatee!

The pelicans showed off their individual personalities as they followed the dolphins around the lagoon, slamming on the brakes to line up over the fish.

They bring the message of taking a moment to align yourself with what your heart truly desires. We recommend stopping, assessing then going for it. Oh, and have fun!

Be Open to unexpected magical connections

Inhale, Exhale, Repeat.

Mother Nature used her soft and swirly paint burns this morning giving us a sweet start to the day. Low tide added to the beauty by reflecting the majestic painting on the wet sand.

The absence of a breeze made the morning even more serene. A chatty flock of gulls flew in at their usual time to enjoy bath time in the warm water.

The ocean was calm making it easy to see the dolphin hanging with the surfers. The dolphins bring us the message of being open to unexpected magical connections that bring joy.

Fully commit

Mother Nature brought us another sweet and salty sunrise with huge fluffy clouds on the horizon soaking up the paste colors. When the sun came up, it lit up the clouds and ocean with an orange glow.

A small flock of gulls flew in to enjoy bath time. They said, “Now that the weather is warming up, we will be leaving for the summer soon.”

After sunrise a maternity pod of dolphins came in to enjoy a relaxing morning. The moms and calves were enjoying rolling around and chilling in the calm water.

An osprey and Rusty the pelican bring its a message of commitment. Rusty said, “I believe in flying in with my wings and heart open. This way the person knows I am ready to love and be loved.”

The osprey added to the message saying, “For me it’s about staying focused and then going all in. I don’t always catch my fish, but my chances are better if I am fully committed. I am careful not to let any missed opportunities deter me from trying again.”

Coexist to thrive

Ahhhhh, another magical painting by Mother Nature. This morning she used her pastel color palette to create a soothing sunrise. A cozy layer of fog added to the serenity. With little breeze and a calm ocean every cell in my body matched my peaceful surroundings.

A small flock of gulls flew in with their hearts and wings open ready for bath time while the pink ball of light came up through the haze.

After sunrise a pod of dolphins came in to have a playful breakfast. Momma Sarabi, her calf Simba and 2 others were enjoying making waves while grabbing mullet in the shallows. A couple cormorants, turtles and 2 pelicans joined in the fun.

The dolphins said, “We bring the message of community and play. We hang in pods and also with other marine life because coexisting is a part of life. Fishing together helps everyone thrive.”

We know the power of play and joy and how they can give your immune system and mood a boost. Join us and let’s play!”

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - Daniko Schooling the Pelicans

Yesterday 4 pelicans and Daniko the dolphin were having out grabbing snacks. The pelicans were grumpy with each other. At one point, a yellow headed pelican was picking on the white headed pelican showing him who was boss.

Well, Daniko didn’t like that so he came up to the yellow headed pelican, lunging at him giving him a good bump.

Then they went on with their morning grabbing fish and making hug splashes. Oh the drama!

Walk like an egret

Mother Nature brought us a serene sunrise with a calm ocean and a light breeze. With a soft layer of salty fog, the morning was extra cozy and warm.

The flock of gulls flew in later than usual in front of the golden sun. One of the laughing gulls flew over Buddy the herring gull and said, “Buddy looks really big when I am standing next to him but when I fly above and look down everything changes. When you change the angle you view a person or situation, it can give you a new perspective. I highly recommend it!”

An egret joined the flock too! He said, “Just take it one step at a time. Us egrets are pretty confident birds. Go ahead, embrace your inner egret, let your confidence come through, even if you are not sure where you are going.”
