The love between a momma and baby

Good Morning!

It was a moody bluesy kind of sunrise with a layer of clouds keeping the sun hidden. I thought I'd share a couple sunrise shots from earlier this month along with Momma Jade and her youngin' Topaz.

I've been lucky enough to meet several dolphins moms, Jade is the most affectionate. This is the third calf of hers I have met since 2019, Ruby, Opal and now Topaz.

With all three of them there is always a lot of snuggling, kissing, and sweet connections.

Wishing you a day filled with love!

Trust the process

Mother Nature brought us a swirly pink clouds reflecting on the wet sand.  Soft blue rays jetted into the sky giving us a hopeful vibe.  A light salty breeze added to the ambiance

A flock of gulls flew in with wings open and ready to start the day.    The ocean churned toward shore while the sun came up from behind a small grouping of clouds.

After sunrise I saw a turtle chilling in the lagoon.  She said,  “Slow and steady is my secret to reaching my goal.  Not to worry, what is mean for you will find you. Trust the process, you got this.”

Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Spread ripples of inspiration

Ahhhh, spring time is here with a calm sunrise, perfect temperature and a wide open sky to greet the sun.  A small flock of gulls along with a flock of ruddy turnstones flew in for bath time and connection.

Rootie, a ruddy turnstone  who was getting squeaky clean brings us the message today. She said, “Self care is vital to my health. Getting squeaky clean, keeps the bugs and stress away. And by taking care of myself I send out ripples of inspiration to others.”

After sunrise Momma Jade and her momma friends came into the lagoon to grab snacks and relax.  Stay tuned, so many stories from the lagoon to share.

Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Get out of your comfort zone

Mother Nature brought us a reflective, heart opening gorgeous sunrise to start the day. A small flock of gulls flew in feeling chatty and enjoyed bath time in the tide pool.

The reflections on the wet sand with soft fluffy clouds. Just before he sun came up, a pink dove formed int he cloud morphing into an bird angel adding to the healing vibe of the morning.

After sunrise Momma Jade and her calf were in the lagoon enjoying snuggles and snacks.

A mullet jumped to my right just for fun bringing us the message. He said, “I recommend getting out of your comfort zone. Be spontaneous, color outside the lines and see what magic unfolds.”

Don’t hit the snooze

With a chilly start the the day the sky was wide open allowing the sun to be the center of attention. The breeze blew the tops of the waves sending salt spray into the air.

About a dozen laughing gulls left said, “We don’t want to head north until it warms up. For now, we will keep our wings and hearts open soaking up the beauty of New Smyrna Beach.”

Pelican highway was cruising southbound over the perfect waves calling to the surfers to come play.  Usually the waves remind us to let them roll over us but today they said, “Sometimes the waves are more like an alarm clock waking us up from a slumber.  We encourage you not to hit the snooze, use the waves to bring you a refreshing new perspective.”

Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - Worm or Snake, It’s what’s for Lunch

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - Worm or snake, It’s what’s for Lunch

2 male dolphins, Holy Guacamole and Jack,  were in the lagoon with several pelicans enjoying a late lunch.  Holy Guacamole got his silly name because he has a tiny hole in his dorsal fin.  Jack got his name from watching a caravelle jack fish.

The most popular item on the menu was mullet but a pelican did find a special for the day.

While we were hanging out, one of the pelicans scooped up a worm looking snack, tossed it around in his gullet a few times before sending it down the hatch! A first for me to witness, how about you?

Stay tuned for more tales!

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode- Closeness with Daniko

Daniko and Jasper, 2 male dolphins were hanging out along with 15 of their closest pelican friends. The pelicans were chasing the dolphins and the mullet in hopes of stopping up a few snacks.

As I was filming Jasper grabbing a fish, Daniko swam by, said hello then kicked it to go grab a snack. I love these boys!

joy in everyday chores

Mother Nature used her swirly paint brush today filling the sky with soft pastel brush strokes. A small flock of gulls used the light breeze to hang in place before bath time.

A male cardinal standing not he gate tot he beach was singing loudly to his partner in the distance who was answering him with a sweet melody.  They said, “We are reminding you to  listen to your inner song, don’t be shy, sing it to the ones you love.”

A laughing gull taking time for self care said, “Find the joy in everyday care for the body. Feel the joy in your feathers when you love your body.”

Lastly, 2 dogs greeting each other with love and curiosity said, “We highly recommend meeting new friends by sharing sweet connections.”

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - Solar Eclipse Lagoon Party!

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - Solar Eclipse Lagoon Party!

The day started when Momma Sarabi and her pod rushed into the lagoon like they were running through a convenience store, grabbed some snacks and rushed out. Whoosh!

About 5 minutes later, Daniko and Jasper came in and stayed for 3 hours. They were very affectionate, swimming around the camera giving lots of photo ops and connection.

I’ve been asked by several people of the dolphins are affected by the eclipse. This is my fist solar eclipse with them but I can answer yes! I have noticed they tend to celebrate more around new and full moons.

Hopefully you can feel the action packed fun. There were about 15 pelicans for a couple hours, but the end just Rusty the pelican and myself with a solo dolphin who I call Holy Guacamole. More from him and his silly name in another episode.

Let the stress wash over you

With a huge dark cloud at first light I was curious to see how the sunrise would unfold.  The wind came along and pushed the clouds making room for the sun to come up surrounded by gulls.

One of the gulls appeared to be sitting on the sun said, “Trust your intuition when things appear one way but don’t feel quite true.  You see, sometimes illusions show up but not to worry, your inner knowing always sees through.”

Rootie Tootie (Ruddy Turnstone) and her flock scurried by with a quick hello as they looked for breakfast while the flock of gulls got squeaky clean. One of the gulls said, “Relax and let the waves wash over you. Let the stress and tension roll off your back.”

revelations, change and even unexpected developments

Mother Nature brought us another windy day with a refreshingly cool temperature. The clouds on the horizon snuggled the sun as it came up for its big eclipse day.

The ocean soaked up the gold and orange light as it churned toward shore. A chatty flock of gulls flew in for our usual bath time with a message.

They said, “We are here to encourage self care to manage the energy of the solar eclipse. Whether you can see it or not, you will most likely feel the energy of this historic event.”

“This solar eclipse is ushering in new beginnings and endings with a bit of intensity. You may feel antsy like you’ve had too much caffeine."

"We recommend getting squeaky clean, head into nature to calm your jitters and find your zen.” And, flying close with a flock-mate can help you feel supported and connected.“

Be open to revelations, change and even unexpected developments over the next 6 months.”

Seeds ready to blossom

Chilly wind was whipping up the ocean as I reached the beach.  The flock was waiting when I arrived, they were darting off and back then hanging in the wind before the sun came up to greet the day.

5 crows joined in the flock bringing us the message today.  One of the crows sat on the pole and said, “Stop, take a step back and see where you have been and where you are.  All the seeds you have planted are ready to blossom.  Be clear about your intentions to manifest your heart’s desires.”

When the sun came up I could see the shapes of people walking on the horizon, reminding us we always have support.

Be Curious

As I walked to the beach the crescent moon illuminated the sky and remnants of a recent rocket launch.  The air was crisp with a chilly breeze. The ocean was calm except for perfect waves rolling toward shore.

When the sun came up, it gave a lingering kiss goodbye to the ocean and even left a glow behind for a while.

The flock is much smaller now as they start heading north.  A few of them said, ‘It’s too cold to leave, we are waiting for warmer weather.”   They continued to be quite chatty which got the attention of a pelican who veered off the highway to check out the noise.

The pelican said as he was flying by, “Be curious.  Curiosity is a great way to learn and explore new people, places and things.  You never know what doors it might open. Not to worry, as long as your not a cat, it’s exciting to be curious.”

Strut your stuff

The sunrise was other worldly with heart opening reflective beauty. Mother Nature used her soft pastel colors bringing us a soothing start to the day.

After sunrise, Spot the egret came over to say good morning. I noticed he was wearing his mating colors so I asked him about it.

He said, “Us birds are pretty smart when it comes to mating. We make it known we are looking for a dance partner by putting on our fancy colors. That pink and orange color around my beak is my sign to the other birds know I'm ready to tango.”

“Take it from me if you are in relationship or single, put on some color and strut your stuff. A little flare can go a long way to liven your day.”

A pod of dolphin were grabbing breakfast. Momma Sarabi, Daniko, Jasper and Ridges were all grabbing a mullet breakfast with a couple pelicans. They said, “Being part of a pod and playing helps nourish our soul. And we agree with Spot, don’t be shy, show off your unique flare.”
