See the newness of life through the eyes of a baby
With wind blowing and huge fluffy clouds it looked more like a winter sunrise today. The loud flock of gulls flew in early using the wind to hold in place. Gusts of wind were strong creating textures on the ocean and sending sand down the beach.
Pelican Highway was flying high above in the thermals when the sun came up from behind a cloud on the horizon.
After sunrise I was lucky enough to see the common ground dove messenger from earlier this month had babies! 2 babies in the nest bring us the message today.
They chirped, “We are staying safe in the nest until we are strong enough to leave. We are a reminder to know your limits, tune inward so you know when to rest in the nest and when you are ready to fly.”
“We also bring the message of peace, love and hope. Since we are babies, we remind you of the purity and newness of life. We are here to remind you to look at life through our eyes, seeing things for the first time.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - Silly Dolphin Plays with Pelicans
This dolphin is hillarious with the pelicans. Non stop teaser! In the video you can see him acting like he is going to get a fish then stops, swims back and gives the pelicans a boop. This went on for a long time, the pelicans were so confused.
Hope it makes you smile!

You are fierce when you need to be
Huge fluffy clouds filled the sky giving us another day with the clouds game. The color show started off grey and pink shifting to a heart opening golden yellow and blue. The breeze was blowing making it easy for the flock to hang in place and say hello.
Pelican Highway was staying low to keep out of the wind while osprey hung in place before diving for breakfast. They both said, “We handle the elements different based on our strengths. Find your unique way that supports your journey.”
The osprey looked me in the eye and went on to say, “Can you feel me? What you feel is my fierceness that enables me to dive repeatedly to catch a fish. You have it too! Feel it, use it, go for it!”

Trust in the timing
It was a great sunrise to play the cloud game with loads of fluffy clouds along the horizon. At one point it looked like the clouds were leaning in to hold each other up.
When the sun came up from behind the clouds sun beams jetted out giving us a hopeful vibe.
Perfect waves changed colors along with the color show. As they rolled toward shore you could hear them calling to the surfers to come play. With a sail boat on the horizon and the wave creating, together they remind us about timing and flow.
Pelican Highway was jamming southbound. One pelican slammed on his brakes and floated in, splashing down right in front of me. He said, “Be open to spontaneous experiences. You never know when people might just pop in for a quick hello.”

Nurture your heart’s desire in a safe place
Ahhhhhhh, with the absence of a breeze and vast reflections on the wet sand, the stillness was calming. The chatty flock flew in with their hearts and wings open soaking up the beauty of the morning.
The combination of clouds, wet sand and sun beams made for an artistic masterpiece. Pelican Highway glided effortlessly down the sparkly highway reminding us to use the floc to carry us.
After sunrise I met a sweet common ground dove who was sitting on her nest in the mangroves. She said, “I’m a reminder to take time out to nest and rest. You see spending time in a safe place is a way to create inner balance."
"If you are like me, nurturing my young, I highly recommend nurturing your heart’s desires in a quiet place away from the fray.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Let go of the past to find inner peace
With low tide, Mother Nature used the wet sand to bring us a heart opening reflective sunrise. A large and chatty flock of gulls flew in for bath time along with 3 pigeons.
Huge fluffy clouds floated along the horizon soaking up the ever changing color show. The ocean called to the surfers to come play with the pelicans as they rode the waves down the shore.
The pigeon looked at the camera and said, “I am a messenger of harmony and peace. I agree with the laughing gull who reminds us to fall in love with our reflection. I’m here to encourage finding peace within. I highly recommend letting go of past conflicts so you can embrace a tranquil inner peace of mind.”

Almost Kissed by a whale
Turn up the volume....Whale snot covering my lens and almost kissed! This was one of my top five best experiences of my life!
Thanks to Slater Moore Photography, as you can see we are eye level with the whales, up close and personal with whale snot covering our lenses. The whale played with us for 45 minutes. A couple times the whale popped up coming close, It was quite an experience having a massive whale come straight up at me. I was hoping for a smooch...it was close but not quite. When I was back in the lagoon with the dolphins after this trip they seemed so small. :)

You are strong when you need to be
With a wall of grey and just a hint of pink I decided to share photos from other days to brighten your day.
This momma Turtle is from July last year. The beach was huge and quite a feat but she did it. She reminds us sometimes we have to dig deep to get to our goal. She said, “Not to worry, like me, you are strong when you need to be.”
The pelican is from earlier this week when he grabbed a fish and gobbled it down on the fly.
She said, "Sometimes to reach the maximum goal you have to keep moving. Sure, there are some days when I can relax and catch fish as they come. On other days, it is crucial I keep moving forward, celebrating and eating as I go."
If you haven't seen this one~ Here is a video of Momma Turtle's Journey. I find her so inspiring.
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
It’s ok To Pause
As I walked to the beach there was a small opening of light coming through the dark cloud enveloping the beach. A rain cloud floated to the north on the horizon as the flock flew in to say good morning.
The breeze picked up as the sun came up behind the clouds. The cloud wall separated becoming a vast picture of fluffy clouds filling the sky.
After sunrise a dolphin glided by the dock with a greeting. He said, “Sure I like to jump and play yet there are times I like to take it easy and enjoy the moment. I’m here to remind you that it's okay to pause, to float along and appreciate the beauty that surrounds you."

After the storm comes a rainbow
Raindrops keep falling on my head….A very dramatic sunrise with walls of rain, a quick rainbow, dolphins, pelicans, laughing gulls, a butterfly and even the sun made an appearance.
When I reached the edge of the shore rain was all around soaking up the moody blues and bit of pink color giving us purple rain. Dolphins were in the distance grabbing breakfast while Pelican Highway also searched for snacks.
The sun came out filling the sky with a vibrant gold light and a rainbow! Like Katy Perry sang in her song Firework, “After the storm comes a rainbow.”
After sunrise I met a butterfly who put all the messages together for us. She said, “‘Even when life feels stormy, nature offers us symbols of hope, resilience, and transformation.”
“The stormy sunrise reminds us that even the darkest moments can lead to new beginnings. The butterfly encourages us to embrace change and trust in our transformation. The rainbow promises that after the storm, beauty and hope will follow. And the bathing gull teaches us the vital importance of self-care in sustaining our strength.”

Together we are stronger
Mother Nature used her swirly paint brush today with soft and flowing brush strokes. The morning started with soft pink hues switching to vibrant gold and red accompanied by a perfect breeze.
The chatty flock of gulls flew in early to enjoy bath time, rest and soak in the quiet of the morning.
Pelican Highway was jamming again today stopping often for breakfast. Two pelicans flying together encourage us to support each other along the highway. “Together we are stronger and able to share the load.”
Lots of stingrays in the warm shallow water. This morning our message comes from a skate, they look very similar to a stingray.
She said, “Communication comes in many forms. You can talk to us with your feet. Although skates won't harm you, stingrays have long barbs that have venom that can be painful to humans. Just shuffle your feet to let us know you are coming and we will move along."
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
Let yourself be surprised by unexpected twists and turns
The morning air was a mix of smoke and Sahara dust giving us another muted sunrise starting with soft pastel colors morphing to a golden glow.
As the sun came up, the morning came to life! Fish were flying as they chased breakfast, or tried to escape being a snack. At the same time Pelican Highway stopped in front of the sun for a sushi party.
They bring the message of expecting the unexpected. The fish said, “Life has a way of surprising us. Let yourself be caught off guard with joyful unexpected twists and turns.”
As Pelican Highway slammed on the brakes and dove for fish, they said, “Weeeeee! We are experts in flowing one way then in a blink we can change directions. We highly recommend following your instincts in a fluid way so you are ready to pivot with ease."
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
Even small waves can give you a lift
Despite smoke filling the air from a fire, the sunrise was serene and beautiful. Mother Nature used her springtime pastel color palate. A calm ocean and solo dolphin swimming by the rising sun added to the beauty.
The flock of chatty gulls danced around the sun celebrating the start of another day. Pelican Highway traffic was close to shore raising the small waves down the beach. They said, “Even the smallest wave gave lift and carry us down the beach.”
The waves added to the message saying, “We bring the message of timing. Not to worry if you feel like you missed a wave, more are on the way.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - Baby Dolphin is Growing So Fast!
Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - Baby Dolphin is Growing So Fast!
I first saw this newborn calf on 5.25.24 when s/he was very dark and so tiny. (Last photo) Newborn dolphins are dark in color and have what looks like stripes. The stripes are called fetal bands from being scrunched up in the the mom. The stripes eventually slough off over a few weeks.
I saw the baby yesterday and today and also got a better look at the momma too. The Momma has a little bump on her dorsal fin and an indentation on her back making her easy to identify.
Little Squirt seems to be doing really well! When Squirt wasn’t sandwiched between two adults S/he was following her/his Momma into the shallows chasing fish.
What an honor to see this little nugget the past 12 days. The first baby dolphin I met was in June 2018 and I was able to photograph him his first year, I hope we get the same with Squirt.

Ride the energy waves to feel ease
At first light the horizon gently blushed with pastel hues, casting a warm, tranquil glow over the ocean. A light breeze danced across the water, caressing the surface with textured ripples. The flock was already at the edge of the ocean ready to connect and bring in the new day.
Pelican Highway was in jamming in both directions using the waves to glide with ease down the shoreline. They remind us to ride the energy waves to make life feel easier.
They said, “Lean into the waves, learn to ride them, flow with energy. There is an ease that comes when you align yourself with the natural rhythms around you. Embrace the flow and let it carry you effortlessly.”

Acknowledge and connect to your heart
Wow, it was a beautiful heart opening kind of sunrise with so many messages! First light filled the sky with pink ribbon clouds ready to greet the sun as it came up to light up the morning.
When the sun came up, it looked like people were walking from left to right reminding us we have support available, all we have to do is ask.
A baby shark was swimming in the waves grabbing tiny fish for breakfast while the flock celebrated the sun with their open hearts. The young shark said, “I’m here to encourage you to focus on your strengths. Remember, opportunities are all around, use your sensitivity and strength to know which way to go.”
While walking off the boardwalk, a male squirrel with a bushy tail stopped me for a long chat. For a moment, we simply regarded each other in silence.
He showed me the sunrise through his eyes, then he put his little paw to his heart and said, “Seeing life through the eyes of another can transform your understanding of the world. It does’t mean you agree, it’s just another perspective.”
Then he hopped a few feet away, stood up, put both paws to his heart and added, “Taking a moment to acknowledge and connect to my heart is my recipe for a life full of love and peace.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - Hello from a Young Dolphin
Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - Hello from a Young Dolphin
This is the first Momma dolphin I met. When I first saw her it was at the end of 2017 and she was healing from a rope entanglement scar.
I saw her again June 2018, that's when I learned she was a female because she had a baby with her! I named her Momma not knowing I would meet so many other moms.
After getting in the water with my camera, she was the second dolphin who spent a lot of time just hanging out pointing her rostrum at me - I call that Human Whispering.
In this video her youngin' followed in her foot steps pointing her rostrum at the camera. Can you feel it?

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - Pelican Scores a Whopper of a Fish!
Watch as a dolphin zips by super close, stuns a fish, leaves it floating and a pelican scoops it up. The pelican held it in his gullet for about 30 minutes before getting it down the hatch.
