Sunrise with Flock after hurricane
Our first sunrise in New Smyrna Beach after Hurricane Milton. My area is still without power but the birds came to share the message of flocking together. They continue to amaze me, surviving the gusts of wind and intensity of nature. They remind us of our resilience and ability to adapt. No matter the challenge, we got this

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - Cool Dolphin Dude~ Uncle Larry
Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - Cool Dolphin Dude~ Uncle Larry
I have seen jagger several times in the past couple weeks but his bestie Uncle Larry. I was concerned because Jagger has what looks like shark bites.
When I met Uncle Larry he was a male escort for the moms and their calves (a maternity pod). In the past 2 years he has been spending most of his time with Jagger (last photo) his male bestie. It makes me wonder if he has passed the full time male protector role on to a younger male.
He still hangs out with the moms and their calves. He shows the kiddos the ropes, teasing them, chasing fish together and playing with all the toys like mangrove seeds and seaweed.
If he was a guy he would be like Jeff bridges, an easy going, cool dude. He cares about the kids, charming with the ladies, loves to play and tell jokes and super nice to everyone he meets.
Stay tuned for more tales!
Calm sunrise, Strong bird
Good Morning! It's still raining here in sunny Florida. I thought a few calming sunrise photos with a strong bird would be a nice way to start the day.
Wishing you all a beautiful day!
Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - Reunited with a Female Dolphin Momma
Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - Reunited with a Female Dolphin Momma
I love this sweet Momma. I got to know her in 2018 when she came into the lagoon with her tiny calf at the time who I named Indy. I was a bit of an emotional mess when I met her. She was so kind spending lots of time with me just a few feet away, hanging out. I most certainly feel like I was being ‘Human Whispered” by this beautiful Momma.
When I met her she was with Uncle Larry who has a number on his dorsal fin 963. (last photo) It looks like 363 from the years of wear and tear. At the time of the health assessment in 2004 he was a health male around the age of 26.
When I first photographed Momma November 2017, the rope entanglement scar looked like it was still in the healing process. Her rope scar makes her easy to identify, although in the first years I used to confuse her with Ocean who also has a rope entanglement scar.
I believe this is her 3rd calf since I met her 6 years ago. From the way Uncle Larry was playing with the little one, I’m guessing it’s a male but I haven’t seen the full belly yet to confirm. Makes me wonder if Uncle Larry is the uncle, the dad or maybe even the grandpa!
Stay tuned for more from Uncle Larry!
See yourself as the light sees you
My apologies for not posting sunrise yesterday I went on a field trip with Pip’s Fishy Adventure to a 3rd grade class. Pip was a bit! More from the outing coming soon.
SUNRISE TODAY:
The sunrise was windy today making the flock a bit jumpy. The ocean was churning like a washing machine creating lots of white water. When the sun came up from behind the clouds, heat filled the air while golden rays jetted out into the morning.
After bath time the gulls enjoyed relaxing down low, out of the wind. While relaxing, one of the gulls seemed to pause—not to judge, but to admire. She said, “I bring the message of compassion for yourself. See the beauty in your reflection, as the light sees you.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
PS ~ Book signing is next Friday at Marine Discovery Center 3:00PM - 6:00PM
Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - Life of the party!
Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode -Life of the Party!
I went through my photos from yesterday and this dolphin played all day long. He was the life of the party! He tossed around a mangrove seed off and on for 30 minutes. He chased fish, snuggled with friends, and even had the zoomies.
Just before he left, he flew out of the water 3 different times. The first leap took me by surprise and was so high it made me gasp! The second leap is the first 4 photos, the third are the last 2 photo. I’m not sure if he was trying to get the remora on his belly off or he just enjoyed flying.
You can see the remora hanging on his belly in the 5th photo. I’m not certain of his gender but based on the dolphin friends he hangs with, I think he is male. I’m thinking about calling him Remora or Remmy.
Today I had the great pleasure of hanging out with Momma and her calf. She was the first Mom dolphin I met in 2017. Stay tuned for that episode, coming soon!
Trust your visions
Mother Nature brought out all her paint brushes to bring us a dramatic sky with all the colors in the crayon box. The pre sunrise show was full of rain, lightning with purple and grey clouds.
The light breeze felt soft and soothing. Small, shimmering waves rolled toward shore as the sun came up adding a golden glow to the sky. Wet sand reflected a mirror image of the masterpiece.
A chatty flock flew in early eager to get squeaky clean. It’s the time of year when the birds of prey return to enjoy a Florida winter. A red shouldered hawk with quite a stare brings us the message of vision. He said, “ I am here to encourage you to trust your visions, what you know and see is true. Let it bring you strength and courage to soar.”

Tales from the lagoon ~ Episode - Show and Tell with a Gender Reveal!
Tales from the lagoon ~ Episode - Show and Tell with a Gender Reveal!
This young dolphin was with 10 other dolphins all feeling cheerful and playful. He went into the shallows with his mom and another adult to grab fish. He came back with a sheepshead, brought it over and gave it a little toss to show off his catch.
He picked it up then rolled over showing me his belly, which revealed his gender! It’s a boy! Male dolphins have an exclamation point slit on on their belly and females have a division sign slit.
He was quite proud as he glided by making sure I could see his eye and one last toss of the fish! Kids, they sure know how to play.

Hold On, transformation is here.
Ahhhhhhh, a much needed calm and soothing sunrise. The sliver of a moon was high in the sky above the subtle pink glow 30 minutes before the sun came up to greet the day.
The flock flew in with heir wings and hearts open when it was still dark. Pixar the laughing gull flew right at the camera remind us that the upcoming eclipse can “eclipse” people into our life.
Pelican Highway traffic was jamming in both directions stopping often for fish snacks. Dragonflies of all colors swarmed the dunes bringing us the message of transformation.
They said, “This is a time of change, allow the change unfold. The orange dragonfly said, “It’s true the energy can make you feel like you want to put your head against the wall and hold on for the ride. Not to worry, it is just temporary. You’re stronger than you think.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
Find balance with relationships
Mother Nature brought us a soft and soothing sunrise to calm our nerves. A layer of light fog gently covered the shoreline while the almost new moon hung high the sky.
2 dolphins surfing the waves as they came from the north grabbed a wave right in front of me then poof they disappeared. The chatty flock flew in loud and ready for an extended bath time in the calm ocean.
The up coming new moon will be accompanied by a solar eclipse. The eclipse, flock and dolphins came together toe being us the message today.
Usually a new moon brings fresh starts, however this new moon eclipse is situated in the sky urging us to let go. It is encouraging us to find balance in our relationships. The dolphins said, “I recommend playing if the energy feels intense. Sure the waves of energy may feel big, so why not relax into them and surf the momentum.’
The gull jumping with the flock added, “Find flock mates that make you want to jump up and down! Joyful relationships are the way to go.”

Hold hands as you navigate the waves
Mother Nature brought us a soothing start to the day with pastel colors and a hazy sunrise. The almost new moon was hanging in the sky as the chatty flock flew in to grab a bath and connect.
The ocean was calm once again. Sun drenched waves rolled toward shore calling to the surfers to come play. A pelican duo brings us the message of reaching out to your flock mate. Hold hands as you navigate the waves together. Life is fun with a wingman.”

Still windy….rest day
Good Morning! As I look out the windy, it is still grey, windy and raining.
The skimmer, exhausted from life is taking a much needed rest. He said, "Sometimes life can make you feel a little flattened. Not to worry with a little help from the flock and friends, you'll be up, flying high in no time."
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
Gorgeous Sunrise day before hurricane
Good Morning! This is calming video to start your day, showing the ever changing colors of the sunrise the day before hurricane Helene headed toward Florida.
Check out the flock showing how they use the wind to hang in place.
Wishing everyone safety and comfort!

use your imagination for new resources
The pre sunrise was extraordinary with a vibrant pink, gold and light blue color show filling the sky. The pink turned to dark red hinting at the rain coming.
The flock flew in early led by Pixar and One Legger. They used the wind to hang in place and connect.
The clouds on the horizon made a for a great cloud game! A golden heart appeared just after a yellow eyes cat breathing fire crossed in front of the sun. What do you see?
The flock and cloud game came together to bring us the message today. They said, “Use you imagination to help you use the resources near you. You see the wind is intense but if we harness it’s power we can hang in place. Think outside the box, you never know you might see something in a new light.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
Let Daily chores be meditative
A soft breeze came from the south making it possible for the flock of gulls to hang in place as the sun came up to greet the day. The gulls were full of vim and vigor, feeling extra chatty and engaging.
When the gulls are getting squeaky clean, they flap their wings with all their might to get the bugs and dirt off. Then they stand up tall, flapping their wings whooping off their beauty. They bring the message of daily self care and slowing it down to enjoy the moment, even with chores. Let the mundane everyday activities be meditative.
One Legger came used the wind to hang out close and connect while Buddy the herring gull squawked loudly. Buddy is quite the talker! He has a way of letting everyone know what he wants. We all enjoyed the sun coming up from behind the clouds as Pelican Highway floated along the shore. Truly a beautiful start to the day!
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
Different perspective when you clean up the hard to reach places.
Ahhhhhhh, with a rain cloud to the south, the sky was clear allowing the sun to come unencumbered ready to shine bright.
The chatty flock flew in early showing off their fancy footwork. We enjoyed an extended sunny bath time then danced around the sun celebrating and soaking up some much needed vitamin D.
One of the gulls taking time to preen said, “I find it’s helpful to clean up in those hard to reach places. The bonus is it helps me see myself from a different perspective.’
Another gull tossing around seaweed looking for hidden treasures said, “I’m here to encourage trying new things. Explore your surroundings, toss things around, you never know what you might find.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - Fishing Shenanigans
Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - Fishing Shenanigans
Ocean and Whisper, 2 male dolphins were at it again yesterday. In between rain, overcast skies, intense sunshine, waves and rain they were having a blast.
The current and wind is strong right now, the pelicans were using the wind to hang in place so they could line up just right to piece the water and catch a fish.
Redfish, mullet and snapper were the fish of choice. A few pelicans joined in the fun too! In between the fishing were long cat naps.

Stay open even when it’s stormy
Raindrops keep falling only head was the song in my head as a rain shower came 30 minute before sunrise. Huge rain clouds floated in every direction creating yellow and pink rain.
Wet sand reflected the dramatic beauty adding to the heart opening vibe.
The chatty flock flew in wet and loud. They said, “We highly recommend staying open even when things are stormy.”
Shortly after the sunrise, for a fleeting moment a perfect rainbow appeared. Like Katy Perry sings, “After a storm comes a rainbow.” The rainbow encourages us to hang in there, the storm will clear and things will feel better again.
Wishing you beautiful day friends!

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - Incoming Dolphin Greeting
Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - Incoming Dolphin Greeting
I was in the lagoon when Ocean and Whisper swam in with 2 other male dolphins.
Both Ocean and Whisper came right over to say hello. This is Ocean chasing and catching a mullet right in front of the camera. When they weren't chasing fish they were relaxing with a few snuggles. More tales from the day coming soon.
