Leave behind the old feathers, making room for new

Yippppeeeeee! The sun made a brief appearance this morning, bringing us a beautiful sunrise before a soft layer of fog rolled in, wrapping everything in a cozy embrace.

The beach was alive with activity—so many birds! Laughing gulls, ruddy turnstones, sandpipers, skimmers, and red knots gathered together. It was bath time, and the shallow water was bustling with action as the birds splashed in the water, preening and cleaning, preparing for what’s to come.

They bring us a message to close out the year: “Use today to let go. Reflect on the learning and growth of 2024. Leave behind the old feathers you no longer need, making room for new growth and experiences.”

Wishing you a safe and happy New Year's Eve.

Tales from the lagoon ~ Episode - New Moon Snuggles Part One

So many dolphins today! The females, males and kiddos all came together for snuggles, smooches and rolling around! The fun lasted for an hour in the shallow and deep water.

This video is of Charley and M, 2 male adult dolphins playing with the kiddos. Along with snuggles, Daniko, a male dolphin was enjoying grabbing snacks while the snuggle fest went happening.

Trust your instincts as you step into 2025

This morning, the sunrise was painted in 100 shades of grey, mingled with moody blues and spitting rain. The scene felt like a perfect prelude to tomorrow's black new moon—a rare event marking the second new moon in December.

The energy of a new moon extends three days before and after its arrival, offering an invitation for fresh starts and new beginnings.

This particular black moon, positioned uniquely in the sky, encourages a grounded perspective asking us to be level headed as we reflect on 2024 and set intentions for 2025.

The man in the moon shared this wisdom, ”Like the turtle hatchling, trust your instincts, step into the new year with courage and focus. By listening to your inner knowing, you can accomplish anything you set your heart on."

Life is like the weather, wait and it will change

Rain drops keep falling on my head.....with fog, clouds and rain it was a wet start to the day. The clouds were quite dramatic. At one point it looked like a giant eye in the dark cloud, can you see it?

A chatty flock of laughing gulls along with a couple ring-billed gulls flew in to connect and say hello.

Mother Nature brings us the message of change. "Life is like the weather, just wait and it will change."

Collaborate to thrive

A soft layer of fog and wall of fluffy clouds kept the morning feeling cozy.  As the sun came up, various colors sparkles across the white waves adding to the beauty of the day.

The laughing gull flock was huge and loud, joined by a flock of red knots.

The red knots were digging for breakfast together reminding us the power of collaboration.  They said, “Teamwork is how we thrive.  We fly in unison, walk as one and grab snacks together.  We know our strength comes from our numbers.”

Soak up the magic of the season and carry it forward

Ahhhh, the sky was spectacular! Mother Nature used every crayon in the box to give us a magical start to the day. The almost new moon was lit up high in the sky adding to the hopeful vibe.

A chatty flock flew in loud and ready to connect before bath time. The gulls opened their wings as the sun came up receiving the warmth and soft light.

The flock said, "Whether you are solo or have a flock, we recommend being open to the magic of the season. Soak it up and carry it into the new year."

It was family day in the lagoon after sunrise. A large pod of dolphins came into the lagoons. Moms and their kids along with 4 males- Charley, M, Whipser and Ocean. The adult males were hanging with the kiddos while the moms grabbed a mullet breakfast.

If you celebrate, I wish you a Merry Christmas! For those who don't, I wish you a very beautiful day!

Be open to new experiences

Mother Nature brought us a breezy morning with a soft layer of fog.  The  pre sunrise sky was filled with fluffy clouds accompanied by a pastel sky.

The birds flew in before sunrise and were in a very playful mood.  They used the wind to hang in place and connect.

Such a fun morning with new experiences.  One of the birds landed on my head again and when I put my wide angle lens out to snap the photo she tilted her head as if posting.  Then another bird landed on the camera!  I’ve been photographing the flock since 2017. It seems it takes 7 years to earn their trust.

Bath time was packed, like a spa day in the healing waters.  A skimmer joined the laughing gulls to get squeaky clean.  I have never seen a skimmer in bath time, so this was a real treat.

The birds remind us to be open to new experiences that bring us laughter and joy.

Wishing you a beaufiul day friends!

Slow down to connect

Mother Nature brought us a a crisp breeze brining us a little nip in the air…..for sunny Florida. The flock flew in early and very chatty. They hung in place with ease courtesy of the wind.

The ocean churned with power sending salty spray in the air. When the sun came up it started with a gold lining, like a silver lining bringing the energy of hope for a new day.

One Legger was extra sweet today bringing the message of strength and connection. Sure this time of year can be overwhelming many levels. I highly recommend taking time to slow it down to connect. Remember you are stronger than you know, rest into your strengths, you got this!”

Winter solstice - more light - soak it up

Mother Nature took us from balmy with fog to crisp and cool in a day.  Fluffy clouds with a deep copper glow filled the sky before sunrise changing to a beautiful golden glow as the big ball of light came up.

Pelican Highway was empty but Seagull Street was pack flying in early to connect.  Today is the winter solstice in the northern hemisphere bringing us the message of renewal and rebirth.

The winter solstice marks the day when the days becoming longer bringing more light brining the energy of renewal. Mother Nature said, “Use the energy today to set intentions for personal growth. Connect to nature to restore balance, giving yourself the inner strength to continue on your path.”

Keep your focus on your heart

The morning started out with thick wet fog and clouds.  The sun came up and worked with the wind to burn off the fog and move the clouds along so we could have a golden sunrise.

The sun burning off the fog reminds us eventually the haze will burn off so we can see clearly.

The chatty flock flew in to say good morning.  So nice of you to feel the warmth of the sun comm up and free the day while the wind blew salty spray in the air.

After sunrise, a squirrel stopped me to chat. As he put his little paws to his chest he said, “If you feel foggy, keep your focus on your heart. Trust it to guide you toward your dreams.”

Curiosity to expand your horizons

The fog is still thick this morning, keeping the sun hidden. Around 6:00 am while sipping my coffee, enjoying the stillness of the fog I heard coyotes howling across the river which inspired todays photos.

On this day, a surfer was coming down the beach. From a distance he looked like he had a dog walking next to him. Once closer, it was a coyote trotting next to him on the way to the waves.

The coyote continued to be curious about the surfers, watching from the beach. He said, “I’m here to remind you to be curious. Sniff around to see what you might find. Take in new experiences to broaden your horizons.”

Safe place to land is fun!

This morning the sunrise was fifty shades of grey. While hanging with the flock they started landing on my head out of the blue. So much fun to feel their little feet on my head. Have a fun day!

Listen to your dreams, visions and intuition

Soft rays of pink light streamed into the sky 30 minutes before the sun came up from behind the clouds.  With a wet salty layer of fog the morning felt cozy and quiet.

The flock of laughing gulls flew in just before sunrise for bath time. So good to see them again!  Pixar flew right over to say god morning and strike a pose.

The sun came up from the behind a mushroom shaped cloud burning off the fog and bringing warmth.

After sunrise while I was on the dock a loon popped up to say hello! She said, “I’m here to encourage you to listen to your intuition, dreams and visions. Listen for guidance, even the tiniest of whispers can open a door for you.”

“I’m also a messenger of tranquility and peace, letting you know the rough waters are behind you, relax and enjoy!”

Open and ready for change

Rain drops keep falling on my head….the sun will come out tomorrow…

It was raining as my feet hit the sand. I was able to snap a photo of the moon at 5am before the clouds covered it up. The moon brings us the message today.

The man in the moon said, “I am situated in the sky asking you to be open minded and flexible. Ride the waves, ready to carry you forward."

"Full moons bring us endings, doors may be closing now, so new openings can emerge. Use my energy to help you let go of anything you no longer need, starting the new year off feeling lighter, ready for change.”

Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
