Foggy day turtle time
We are having another thick, salty fog kind of morning. I thought Momma Turtle would be a nice way to start the day.
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
Foggy day Friends
Good Morning! Just a quick video today.....The sun stayed hidden behind a thick layer of fog…. That didn't keep the flock hanging out. Always fun to be included in the flock. Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
Be the ripple you want to see in the world
With rain in the forecast, I was pleasantly surprised to witness such a stunning sunrise! Low tide offered a shimmering canvas of wet sand, perfectly reflecting the artistry of a brand-new day.
Mirror, mirror on the sand, unveiled a expansive painting of colors, soothing the nervous system with its serene beauty.
A lively flock arrived for bath time and connection, their chatter filling the morning air. As they fluffed and preened, ripples spread across the water, carrying the message of the day. One of the gulls said, “Remember, even the smallest actions create ripples. Be the ripple you want to see in the world.”

Inspire others to get squeaky clean
The morning was overcast, with a ceiling of fluffy gray and moody blue clouds. The top of the sun peeked out for about a minute, just to the left of the glowing channel marker.
Since there weren’t many sunrise colors to capture, I thought I’d share photos from pelican bath time yesterday. I was lucky enough to be right in the middle of the action when one pelican started splashing—flapping his wings against the water with a loud thud to shake off the bugs.
His enthusiasm was contagious! Before I knew it, the others joined in, turning the quiet waters into a flurry of feathers and spray. Once everyone was squeaky clean, it was time for snacks.
The lead pelican said, “Join me in inspiring others to shake off the bugs. Self-care feels so good and keeps the grumps away.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
Breathe until you can focus
Mother Nature gifted us a much-needed peaceful and cozy sunrise, wrapped in a salty layer of fog.
As the sun slowly made its way through the mist, the buzz of wildlife joined in. Pelican Highway cruised southbound while dolphins frolicked and surfed the waves, their joy undeterred by the haze.
The fog was so thick that my camera struggled to focus. The dolphins said, "When you feel unable to focus, take a few deep breaths and relax. Clarity comes when the fog lifts. Until then, just breathe."
Wishing you a beautiful, light-filled day, friends!

Let your body move and feel the shift
The pre-sunrise sky glowed in soft hues of pink and blue, with a gentle breeze drifting over the calm ocean.
A peaceful energy filled the air as the flock arrived for bath time, their wings stirring ripples across the still water.
The sun seemed to rise slowly, lingering as if savoring its final moments before kissing the ocean goodbye for the day.
Pixar, the lagging gull, brings us today’s message of movement saying, “Dance like no one is watching. Let your body move and feel the shift it creates.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
Channel markers show the way
As I reached the beach, a gentle humid breeze welcomed me, accompanied by a calm ocean. The flat water made it easy to spot birds feeding and fish leaping gracefully.
A lively, chatty flock arrived just in time to enjoy the sunrise with me. As the sun climbed higher, it illuminated the red channel marker, delivering today's message:
"When you feel like you're swimming upstream, look for the channel markers to guide you. They’ll lead you along the preferred route, helping you avoid obstacles along the way."
Of course the flock reminds us to keep our wings and hearts open to fully experience it all.
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!
Visualize the wave carrying you
This morning, Mother Nature transported us to another world, painting the sky with every color of the rainbow and adorning it with mesmerizing cloud shapes and formations.
As the sun rose, it streamed golden light across the horizon, adding to the heart-expanding vibe of the moment. A chatty flock arrived, filling the air with lively conversation. I was so excited as I spotted Pixar and Hook, 2 laughing gulls—they’re back!
Meanwhile, Pelican Highway was bustling in both directions, delivering a message of ease. The pelicans said, “We ride the energy of the waves to carry us effortlessly down the beach. We remind you to trust the flow. If you feel stuck, take a deep breath, visualize the energy lifting and moving you…. wait until you feel its pull.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Connections ground and guide us
Wow! When I saw the fluffy clouds, I knew it was going to be a heart-healing kind of sunrise. Mother Nature didn’t disappoint, as the sunlight streamed through, bringing us warmth and hope.
The flock flew in early with One Legger and Peg. I haven’t seen Pixar and Split Foot since the cold. I’m guessing they flew further south for warmer weather.
The streaming light today speaks volumes about the beauty of resilience and the power of hope. It reminds us that no matter how heavy the clouds may seem, the light always finds a way through, bringing warmth, healing, and clarity.
Just as the flock gathers with familiar faces like One Legger and Peg, it’s a reminder of the connections that ground us and the moments of grace that guide us, even when others, like Pixar and Split Foot, find their path elsewhere for now.
New moon assists in starting new year lighter
Ahhhhhh, the warmth of the sun is back! This morning, the sun made a grand entrance through the fluffy clouds, streaming golden light in every direction—a heartwarming start to the day.
The flock arrived early, silhouetted against the backdrop of the almost-new moon. Even the shy skimmers joined the gathering, flying in for bath time. One brave skimmer landed just a few feet away to deliver today’s message.
He said, “The almost-new moon reminds us to pause, rest, and get squeaky clean in every way—inside and out. It’s time to let go of old feathers and outdated beliefs so we can step into the year feeling lighter and freer.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Hi
White Pelicans
Still no visible sunrise......I thought I'd share the beautiful white pelicans to start the day. You can see their size in the first photo next to the cormorants and brown pelicans.
This is a video from last year showing their teamwork as they feed. They don't dive for fish like the brown pelicans, they feed in unity, more like a well orchestrated ballet. Click the link to see:

Octopus Photos
It was overcast with spitting rain this morning, so I thought I'd brighten the day by sharing a few photos from yesterday’s extraordinary octopus encounter.
Here’s something fascinating I learned: male octopuses have a scoop at the end of at least one tentacle, while females have suckers all the way to the tip of their arms.
There’s been lots of input about why this beauty ended up on the beach: perhaps trying to get warm, avoiding predators, laying eggs as a female nearing the end of her life, or maybe an elder octopus experiencing confusion—like dementia in humans.
Whatever the reason, it was truly an honor to witness this moment. Watching Spot the egret observe the octopus was equally captivating. Spot wasn’t interested in harming it, just genuinely curious and respectful, as if mesmerized by its presence.
Wishing you a beautiful day with unexpected beautiful connections.

I met an Octopus!
Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - A Special Encounter- A Sacred Space
45 minutes of a very special connection with a octopus. This video shows about 15 seconds of the 30 minutes of connection. My phone died so the last part of the video is from my camera showing the octopus swimming into deeper water.
Not to worry, we gave him/her plenty of space. Spot the egret and Luey the Pelican were also very curious and respectful of the octopus.
An expert commented on my live video saying, “When Octopus get old they go through senescence, very similar to human dementia. As a result they start doing weird things. This one may be old and near the end of its natural lifespan.” That you Travis Brandwood
Others commented it may have laid eggs and will soon pass away.
What an honor to be with this beautiful Being
Movement, laughter and spontaneity to lift your heart
This post is a mix and match of Sunrise and Sunset
Mother Nature used her swirl paintbrush today, creating a dreamy canvas where wispy clouds transformed into shifting images and shapes. The pastel color palette danced across the sky until the sun arrived, adding its golden glow bringing warmth.
Last night, dolphins soared out of the water across the river from where I stood. Even from a distance, their joyful leaps sent waves of contagious energy. Their playful spirit was a reminder that movement, laughter, and spontaneity can lift the heaviest of moods.
They remind us, "Even if just for a few minutes, take time to giggle, to play, to be free. Play isn't just for fun—it awakens the soul and brightens the heart."
Wishing you a lighthearted and joyful day!

Go for the big one!
With rain on the way, the sky is overcast with moody blues skies accompanied by a hint of white just above the ocean.
My gear and I decided to take the day off and share a bluesy themed sunrise with a dolphin, proudly parading his enormous bluefish—his triumphant catch a reminder to go for the big one!
