laughing and being silly to make a shift

The morning was crisp and clear as the sun came up free and clear of clouds. The warmth was filled the air as the flock flew in to greet the day. Waves churned toward shore with the light catching the water.

After sunrise I saw Junior, a pelican friend who was eating teeny fish. He looked like he was making a silly face as he gobbled down breakfast.

He said, I bring the message of being silly. “When times feel a bit intense, laughing and being silly are great ways to shake off the stress and lighten the moment.”

Tales from the Lagoon- Episode - Dolphins and a Solo Pelican

A pod of dolphins came in the area in the late afternoon. A pelican friend was hungry and hoping they would toss him a fish. The dolphins were not in the mood and let the pelican know with a head lift. Can you feel, sense the communication?

Ebb and flow of energy is natural

The sunrise carried a wintery feel this morning, with cooler temperatures and gusty winds. A lively, chatty flock arrived early, eager for bath time, while the moon hung high in the sky, illuminated beautifully by the rising sun.

Caramel-colored waves rolled toward the shore, their wind-blown crests sending white, salty spray into the air. Pelican Highway traffic was light, with only a few riders gliding effortlessly along the waves, using their momentum to travel down the beach.

The waves were mesmerizing, carrying a message of motion, energy, and flow. They encourage us to trust the ebb of flow of energy, reminding us that life, moves in waves—rising and retreating in its own rhythm. If you find yourself in a lull, trust that it's only temporary. The waves will return, ready to carry you forward once again.

A beautiful pink and grey stormy sunrise to start the day. Instead of photos, I thought slowing it down with the flock would be a nice way to ease into a Sunday.

Think your dreams into reality

What a Sunrise! Full moon setting, sun rising, a rocket launch, a polar plunge, and the flock—OH MY!

The morning began in quiet stillness, wrapped in a layer of fog, with a soft pink glow painting the sky. A luminous full moon hung overhead, casting its magic. But as the sun climbed, the scene transformed—warmth arrived, and with it, the energy of aliveness.

Just as the sun peeked over the horizon, a rocket launched to the south, soaring high in the sky. At the same time, two brave ladies waded into the chilly ocean for a polar plunge. Together, they bring us today’s message.

The rocket reminds us to think beyond limitations—Your thoughts and dreams can become your reality- dream big, take bold steps, and launch your wishes into reality.

The polar plunge serves as a reminder of nature’s power to reset and rejuvenate. Did you know that salt water and cold water can boost your immune system and elevate your mood? Just another way Mother Nature supports us on our journey.

Wishing you a magical day friends!

A powerful time to let go!

The moon eclipsed last night, setting just as the sun rose to greet the day. The morning unfolded with a breathtaking beauty, carrying a powerful, transformative energy.

A lively, chatty flock arrived early, led by Tiger, the Hermann’s gull. One Legger, Pixar, Hook, and the usual Laughing Gull crew joined the gathering, filling the air with their familiar presence.

A full moon is always an invitation to release what no longer serves us, and with an eclipse, that energy is amplified.

The man in the moon said, “Take deep breaths and allow yourself to let go. If emotions feel heightened, don’t worry—it’s simply an opportunity to clear space for the new. An eclipse can bring new information, epiphanies, or a fresh sense of clarity. Let nature ground you as you integrate whatever comes to light.”

Wishing you a beautiful day, friends!

Lift each other up

Another beautiful day in paradise! The pre-sunrise sky glowed pink, shimmering over the calm ocean as the flock arrived to connect and bathe.

When the sun rose, unencumbered, it appeared huge, casting warmth and a golden glow. Perfectly timed, a pod of dolphins swam southbound alongside Pelican Highway.

The pelican and dolphin duos shared a message about the buddy system. They said, "When times get bumpy, we find it helps to hang together.”

The pelicans went on to say, “A wingman isn’t about losing yourself—it’s about sharing the wind. We have our own flight path, yet we glide together, making the journey smoother. Side by side, we each follow our own journey, yet lift each other along the way.”

Ride the waves, trust the flow, especially this week

The moment my feet touched the sand, my body softened, taking in the beauty of the waves rolling toward shore, their crests glowing pink in the morning light. The flock was smaller today, with fewer migrating birds, yet they remained lively—wings and hearts open, ready to greet the day.

The waves were breathtaking—huge and powerful—calling surfers to come play. Among them, a kayak surfer paddling out through the breaking surf carried today's message.

Paddling out is an art—learning to relax into the churning chaos ahead. This week’s energy may feel intense, amplified by the upcoming lunar eclipse. Like this morning’s towering waves, life’s currents may seem overwhelming. But there’s no need to resist—breathe, relax, and trust the flow carry you. You may even discover the joy of riding new waves along the way.

Happy surfing friends!

Shake off the stress so you can step forward

Weeeeeee! The wind was brisk and invigorating this morning. The beach was alive with movement—so many birds gathered, including a group of snowbirds from Dayton, Ohio, racing into the ocean for a polar plunge!

A huge flock of gulls, a mix of different species, stretched up and down the shore. Resting from migration, they basked in the rising sun, the warmth filling the air like a gentle embrace.

From the south, I spotted an egret gliding toward me. I lifted my camera, ready to capture him mid-flight, but instead, he surprised me—landing and walking right up. I asked if he had a message.

He paused, then gave himself a vigorous shake, ruffling every feather before looking at me and say, “Shake off the stress from yesterday so you’re ready to take a step forward. Like dogs, we birds know the power of a good shake—it’s an instant cure to shift your energy and lighten the load.”

Spot the egret wants his own book

We had a stormy sunrise which I planned to share but we lost power.

Spot said, “Tell everyone that I’m in the book Pip’s Fishy Adventure! It’s a true story about my friend Pip. He tangled with a filleted fish and needed help. I followed him around knowing he might get food from fisherfolk and other people helping him on his journey. Don’t you think I should have my own book? I always have lots to say.”

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode: Easy Like Sunday Morning

After sunrise, two dolphin besties came into the lagoon, enjoying snuggles and relaxation.

It had been a while since I’d seen them, and I felt lucky they wanted to hang out and reconnect.

Later, more dolphins came and went, but that sweet, quiet morning moment was the true highlight.

A moment of play creates a shift

Ahhhhhh, a calm and serene morning, with dolphins cruising close to shore against a soft pink backdrop at first light.

A chatty flock swooped in, and we headed to the water to get squeaky clean as the sun rose, glowing like a hot air balloon.

Sharks fed in the shallows, a ray leapt in the distance, and more dolphins swam by, letting the small waves roll over them.

The dolphins said, "Take a minute to play. Just a quick break in your schedule to giggle and play can shift your mood."

Strength comes from the heart

WOWZER! Mother Nature painted the sky with every crayon in the box, gifting us a breathtaking sunrise. The landscape shifted moment by moment, revealing layers of beauty.

Textured waves shimmered toward shore, calling to the pelicans and surfers alike—an open invitation to ride the rhythm of the sea.

Gulls flew in for bath time while dolphins frolicked just beyond the breaking waves. Pelican Highway was in full motion, a synchronized northbound journey.

In perfect formation, they carried a message of alignment and teamwork.  They said, “We know when we fly in a group, we support each other making the trek easier. We also want to remind you things are lining up, trust you’ll be ready to catch the waves when the timing is right.”

And as if that weren’t enough, an immature bald eagle flew overhead, his presence commanding attention. His message rang clear,“No matter your age, strength comes from the heart. When you listen within, your path will illuminate, guiding you to soar.”

Nesting and Self care- a necessity to thrive

A crisp chill filled the air, bringing a sunrise painted with vibrant colors. The ever-chatty flock arrived, eager for their morning bath. With the water warmer than the air, it was the perfect time to dive in and get squeaky clean.

Nearby, ospreys lined up, poised to dive for breakfast. As the sun rose, it seemed to linger for a moment, pressing a long, golden smooch to the ocean before beginning its ascent.

After sunrise, I came across a solo duck, basking in the steam of a heated pool, soaking up the warmth.

At the marina, a determined pigeon made repeated trips across the lagoon, collecting sticks for his nest. He carried each one with purpose, seemingly proud of his daily work to support his growing family.

The duck and pigeon came together with a shared message: "Nesting and self-care go hand in hand. Creating a safe space to rest and restore balance is essential. When things feel chaotic, self-care isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity. We highly recommend it!"

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - What a Difference A Year Makes!

Last year this time the weather was warm and the lagoon was alive with fish, dolphins and so many birds. This spring seems to be getting a slower start as winter hangs on a bit longer.

Momma Jade, who I have known since 2019, was back in town. She usually leaves for a few months in the winter coming back in the spring.

Daniko and Jasper, 2 male besties were scoring whopper fish by tag teaming the fish. Those 2 can be seen hanging out with the momma and kiddos when not having male bonding time chasing fish.

Your voice carries a unique signature

Weeeeeee! The wind was dancing through the morning, carrying crisp air to sunny Florida. The chatty gulls swooped in fast and loud, eager to celebrate the rising sun.

Gusts lifted the tops of the waves, sending sparkly salt spray shimmering in the light. Pelican Highway was wide open, with only two determined travelers heading northbound.

A laughing gull and a proud mockingbird joined forces to deliver today’s message, ”Put one foot in front of the other. Find your unique song and sing it with pride. Your voice carries a signature like no other—embrace your inner mockingbird and let your soulful ballad soar."

A different perspective brings clarity

Good Morning!

Mother Nature graced us with a soothing golden sunrise, gently easing us into a new day. First light arrived in almost black and white, with just a whisper of pink before the sky blossomed into radiant sunshine.

A lively, chatty flock arrived early, eager to connect. Among them, a laughing gull walked over, looked up, and offered a message for the day.

"I'm here to remind you to see life from a different perspective. Sometimes, just the slightest shift can bring clarity."

"And when you look through another’s eyes, the world may reveal itself in an entirely new way."

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode- Pip’s Doppelgänger

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode- Pip’s Doppelgänger

Meet Junior, a pelican who bears a striking resemblance to my dear feathered friend, Pip. If you’re just tuning in, Pip was no ordinary pelican—he was more like a loyal dog, always by my side. Over time, I captured nearly 4,000 photos and more than 150 videos of our time together.

Junior flies in almost every day to say hello, waiting with me for the dolphins in hopes of snagging a mullet. Lately, he’s even been trying to twirl like Pip!

Since March marks the month I first met Pip, Junior has inspired me to share more videos of Pip for those who may have missed his incredible story.
