Tales from the lagoon ~ Bluefish and Dolphins Fishing Together
Tales from the lagoon ~ Bluefish and Dolphins Fishing Together Part One
When I got in the lagoon the skies were blue and sun was shining bright. Uncle Larry, Jagger and a couple more male dolphins came in for some snuggles and leisurely snacking.
Out of the blue a layer of thick fog rolled in at the same time a school of bluefish started splashing and thrashing. These photos are of a dolphin called Uncle Larry grabbing fish in the middle of the school of the fish.
I wasn't sure what they were feeding on until a herring gull picked up a fish.
PS~. No sunrise today, just fog.

Commit to yourself, stand Tall
Hi, My name is Spike, we are having a thunderstorm this morning here in sunny Florida, so Shelley is sleeping in.
I’m bringing you the message of standing tall. Can you feel my confidence? I highly recommend committing to yourself and walking proud.
The surfers bring the same message. Sure the waves can be huge, just remember to step into your inner Spike, believe it can happen and let the magic unfold. You got this!
Have a groovy day friends!
White Pelicans
Tales from the lagoon ~ Episode - White Pelican Ballet
I'm pretty excited the white pelicans have been in my area and for a long time this year.
They sure are beautiful. I fins them more shy than brown pelicans and move in synch like a perfect choreographed ballet.
Stay tuned for more tales!

Read between the lines
Mother Nature was in a cozy moody bluesy kind of mood this morning. The flock flew in for some much needed bath time at the usual time.
They said, “We are here to remind you that you have the power to inspire and lift others just by opening your wings and heart.”
Another one of the laughing gulls getting squeaky clean said, “ When things don’t seem clear, sometimes it helps to read between the lines.”
After sunrise Daniko and Jasper 2 male dolphins along with Hook the pelican came in to grab breakfast.
A pelican taking off said, “I agree with the laughing gull, when things seem muddy, I slow down my mind, then while everything around keeps moving I can still have clarity.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Hi
Feel your way
Dark clouds and wet air filled the sky as I walked to the beach. A light layer of fog hovered above the shoreline. The sun found a way to shine through mixing with the clouds to bring a dramatic start to the day.
It was day of closeness with the wildlife. A cute laughing gull walked over to say good morning.
A pelican feeding on tiny fish brings us a message of patience, focus and to feel your way.
He said, “Here is my secret…I get quiet so I can tune into the location of the little fish. Then I wait. When I feel the fish, I fly to them and lunge into the school with focus. Once they are in my pouch, I patiently wait for the water to drain while skillfully keeping the fish.”
“It’s an art of waiting for the right moment to lift my pouch and send the little fish down the hatch. Some may say that is a lot of work for some tiny fish. I’m a believer that the little successes add up.”

Sunset Dolphins to start your day
Good Morning! It was a 75 shades of grey with fog kind of sunrise so thought I'd share some sunset snuggles to start your day.

Getting Close
Mother Nature brought us a dreamy sunrise with soft clouds soaking up the pastel color show before sunrise. The wet sand gave us a reflective feel to the morning.
Hundreds of gulls lined the edge of the shore. Tiger the Heermann’s gull from Baja California is still in town enjoying our nice weather.
Pixar, a laughing gull recently named by a FB friend was in the flock with Hook and 1 of the One Leggers. Hook came in close to say help and bring us the message of the day.
She said, “One of my legs has been in the shape of a hook for several years now. It’s been so long, I can’t remember how it happened. What I do know is, I don’t let it keep me from getting close. Right?! Really, look how sweet I am.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode -Sunset Dolphin Art
An adult dolphin was using his/her tail (fluke) to make huge walls of water. S/he was making circle motions sending the water flying. The power was palpable for sure.
This started about 90 minutes before sunset. About 45 minutes before the sun was setting a young dolphin, not a baby but not an adult joined in the fun. The little one started with tail slapping then made little circle splash art too!
When the sun was setting and they started again, I was so excited! Check it out, both the adult and youngin' made the shape of the tail with a splash catching the sunset light. Such beauty!

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode -Besties Fishing in the Shallows
Today the fun started with Daniko and Jasper, 2 male dolphin who are best friends. Daniko came in first really early, grabbed a couple fish and left. Then a couple hours later he and Jasper came in and the fun began.
Jasper was hanging out in the deeper water when he gave a huge kick, water went flying he was off, swimming super fast to the corner of the shallows where he caught a huge fish then started swimming straight for the camera.
Just as he turned on a dime, I turned away to avoid the wall of water coming. When I turned back he was swimming away with his fish and I’m sure had a good laugh about the wall of water.
Daniko wasn’t as dramatic but was catching fish in very shallow water. He came up for a Glamour shot as he headed back to deeper water.
So many more tales to come! Including Momma Jade is back!! I’ve known her since April 2019, she comes to the area for the spring time.
More from her to come, so stay tuned!

Embrace the season of life with a open heart
The pre sunrise sky filled with a pink glow accompanied by a cool breeze from the south. A chatty flock flew in early but didn’t start dancing around until the sun came up from behind a cloud layer.
So many gulls are starting to get their black heads and wanted to share a message about seasons of life and timing.
The black headed gull said, “Every year at this time our feathers turn black on our heads signaling it’s time to head north for mating. Although, that silly groundhog said we are having a longer winter so I’m not sure if I’ll stay in sunny Florida a little longer than usual. I trust my inner guidance to tell me when to move along.”
The gull lifting up out of the water said, “No matter the season of life you are in, I highly recommend leading with your heart, as you can see it makes me feel light and graceful.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

White Pelican Ballet
This video is from 2018, my first time seeing white pelicans on a lake in Orlando.
They were feeding on a lake with a single brown pelican and a half dozen cormorants.
White pelicans don't dive like brown pelicans, instead they dip their beak into the water and scoop up the fish.
Stay tuned for more!
Love your heart
Ahhhhh, mother Nature brought us a peaceful and beautiful start to the day. With calm ocean and wide open sky the morning felt extra soothing. The chatty flock flew in before the sunrise to get squeaky clean.
Their heads are turning black which means the are getting ready to leave for the summer. Bath time won’t be the same with out them.
The sun came up looking as if it didn’t want to leave the ocean as it stretched out giving an extended kiss good bye for the day.
On the way off the beach a squirrel ran out in front of me on the sidewalk and stood up just like on the TV commercial.
He said, “HI!” Then he moved to the plants and started posing. For one of the poses he used one paw to grab the hair on his chest and said, “Love your heart. Let the love and joy flow.
He went on to say, Don’t hoard your nuts to tightly, that will make your heart feel constricted.”
Wishing you a heart expanding day friends!
Sunrise post is late….it was so beautiful this morning, after sunrise I paddled to photograph the white pelicans on a nearby island.

Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - Full Moon Lagoon Party
Tales from the Lagoon ~ Episode - Full Moon Lagoon Party
Yesterday was the first time in a few weeks I saw a large group of dolphins. Several pods were in and out at different times.
Usually when we have a full moon they like to party and yesterday was one of those days. The play came in spurts over several hours. They also enjoyed just hanging out relaxing in the current.
You’ll see the dolphin that is just slightly popped up has a little red scratch. Those are called rake marks. Dolphins use their teeth when they are being aggressing but also when engaging in amorous activity leaving rake marks.
This dolphin with the fresh rake mark was enjoying quite a bit of snuggles and hugs in a group with other dolphin of all ages.
They all rolled around being very playful off and on throughout the day. To give you an idea of playful teeth behavior, check out the last photo, it isn’t from today but it shows a dolphin playfully using his/her teeth on the other dolphin.
Stay tuned for more tales!
PS ~. Sunday sunrise is previous post

Let your soul sing!
Mother Nature brought us another serene yet powerful sunrise with the full moon moving toward setting for the day when the sun came up big and bright.
Before sunrise the flock of laughing gulls and few herring gulls flew in with a gorges pink sky as their background. They stayed to dance around the sun and get a much needed bath.
Dolphins fished offshore, while skimmers headed northbound and Pelican Highway traffic flowed southbound over the waves.
After the gorgeous sunrise I heard 2 woodpeckers on the same tree and a mockingbird on the tree next to them. They bring us a combo message today.
Double the woodpeckers means they really wanted to share that opportunity is knocking. As she poked at the old parts of the tree she said, “Look at the ‘old stuff’ to see if it time to bring it back or let it go.”
The mocking bird chirped, “I’m the messenger of finding your authentic song, how can you express yourself fully?” “I recommend listening to the woodpecker. You see, as you poke away at the old, you can really start belting out your soul’s song with nothing holding you back.”
Wishing you a beautiful day friends!

A new viewpoint brings new light
The full moon set just a few minutes before the sunrise bringing us an influential and beautiful start to the day. The chatty flock flew in just in time to dance around the sun.
Full moons are a time of completion and letting go. The man in the moon said, “I am here to assist in liberating you from limiting patterns and beliefs. Now is the time to let go of the anchor energy in your life so you can soar like the gulls.”
While watching the sunrise one of the gulls, Bob, was chatting on the top of a sunrise walker. He said, “I find I get a different perspective when I look at life through the eyes of someone else.”
“I highly recommend trying a new viewpoint to see things in a different light. And it’s fun to share the sunrise together.”
Let your soul’s purpose unfold
The almost full moon was setting over the serene river about 40 minutes before sunrise adding to the powerful energy this morning. When I reached the beach, the flock was already there chatting amongst each other.
One of the laughing gulls was taste testing a cannonball jellyfish. She said, “Go ahead try new things, you never know what changes it might bring.”
The waves were loud, rolling toward shore with the wind blowing the tops into the air, mixing salt with a light layer of fog. As the sun came up it kissed the ocean goodbye while the flock danced around the big ball of light.
This full moon packs a punch, anyone else feeling it? It is assisting us in letting go of anything in the way of our deepest desires, all the way to our depth of our soul. Yes, that powerful!
The moon said, “I am situated in the sky around other planets that may bring your emotions to the surface. Use my energy to feel and let go. Follow the lead of the gulls, lift up your heart and let all the loose feathers fall away. Not to worry, new feathers supporting your soul's purpose will fill the void.”

Pay attention, set your intentions and ask for help
30 minutes before the sunrise, the sky was almost black and white as the flock and I waited for the sun to come upend greet the day.
As the sun approached the edge of the clouds on the horizon it formed a golden lining, just before popping up. Once up the sky filled with a. Golden glow bringing with it much needed warmth.
We have lots of message today, starting with two laughing gulls on a pole. They said, “We are here to remind you to know when to hold on and when to let go. Like Kenny Rogers sang, “Know when to hold em, know when to fold em.” Listen to your instincts to guide with your decision.
On the way off the beach I ran into a loud wood pecker and a male cardinal. The wood pecker said, “Pay attention, opportunity and change is coming. Be prepared to seize the moment and knock out the details when the time is right.”
The male cardinal was calling out to his partner who was answering in the stance. He said, “I am letting my intentions be known. Be clear about what you want to attract what your heart desires. I am also the messenger that your Spirit Loved Ones are near and happy to support you, just ask.”

Be curious
Brrrrrrrr, with wind from the north the morning was chilly. Mother Nature repeated the beauty from yesterday adding a little more pink to the color palette.
The chatty flock of laughing gulls, herring gulls and ring bills flew in early to watch the sunrise together. Despite the water temperature being chilly, they insisted on taking time for self care.
They said, “We know it isn’t always convenient to take time for hygiene but it is so important to keep us healthy and strong. “
After bath time one of the ring bill gulls and I had a chat. He said, “Be curious. Listen in a new way, you might hear something new or from a different perspective. Just the slightest shift in how you look at something can create a big change.”

sweet connections
Yipppeeeeee! The sun is back and shining bright. The flock flew in at first light and used the wind to stay in place, dancing around the sun when it came up.
Tiger the Heermann’s gulll was in the flock too! I haven’t seen him since February 5 so this was quite a treat. If you are just tuning in, Tiger is a celebrity bird who visits New Smyrna beach from Baja California.
He brings us the message of connections being fluid. He said, “Be open to sweet connections coming and going and popping up when you least expect it.”
2 One Leggers were together in the flock. They said, “We encourage finding like minded flock mates to give you a sense of belonging. We ‘get’ each other which is a priceless form of support.”
Wind blew the tops of the waves sending sparkles into the air that I call Florida snow. It was lovely and doesn’t need a shovel, the best kind of snow!
Wishing you a sunny day friends!
